Solberge Hall Yorkshire Wedding
Rebecca and Neil were married at St Gregorys Church, Bedale
and had a reception at Solberge Hall, Yorkshire.
you will find that most of the images from this wedding are totally unposed,
they are a record of a day.
and for Rebecca and Neil . . a record of one of the most important days of their lives.

I arrive at Rebeccas mums house
and find one fo the little bridesmaids - transfixed by cartoons on the TV . .

the little bridesmaid has her shoes put on by a grown up bridesmaid

and then our little bridesmaid (Ruby) joins her fellow bridesmaid (Sasha) on the sofa . . .

fast forward to the church - St Gregorys Church in Bedale,
where Neil, the groom, is making sure that the paperwork is in order . . .

our bridesmaids arrive outside - one of whom, hides behind a bouquet.
so we take a picture of the bouquet . . .
:)

the vicar now explains the ground rules to the bridesmaids

there's a clippin and a cloppin on the high street in Bedale,
as Rebecca arrives with a Horse and Carrriage for her wedding
well - I know - you spotted it, it's a carriage and two horses, isn't it.
but folks still say 'horse and carriage'
even if there are several Neddies doing the clippin and cloppin at the front end of the carriage.

I forgot to mention the veil . . it was quite a long veil . .
she's making her way to the church with her father now,
with bridesmaids making sure that the veil doesn't snag on anything.

and in she goes . . .

I'm taking pictures from the rear of the church,
simply because - that's what the Vicar wanted.
( it's the vicars wedding isn't it . . . )
well . . it's his church, so I guess he makes the rules.

snooping about - I notice that the way a bouquet is held
by a small hand, looks as pretty as a picture,
so I make a picture of it . .

an unexpected surprise,
Rebeccas father sang at her wedding.
seriously - he stood up at the front and sang for her
he had a heck of a good voice too.
the vicar to the right . . looks entranced.
or in a trance . . .
I'll stop being cheeky and continue the story . .

our couple exit the church . . after which . . confetti hurlers hurl confetti
you know the kinda thing . .

see . . I told you they'd hurl confetti
someone to the right - appears to be hurling a camera . .
on some occasions - I'll see about three people willing to throw confetti
and another twenty with cameras - refusing to throw confetti . .
because . .
the twenty people with cameras want to take a picture of three people throwing confetti . .
wakey wakey folks . . it should be the other way around . .
three guests with cameras - twenty with confetti . . .

our Bride and Groom then clip and clop in the carriage to Solberge Hall
the carriage parks in front of the building and looks super
guests with cameras to left and right . .
well . . it's a wedding . . and everyone carries cameras at weddings nowadays . .
I'm not really complaining - they're included in the picture because they're part of the day . .

our bride, Rebecca, poses for a (not very formal) picture, with her father
in case you're wondering about that lovely dress
it's a Caroline Castigliano wedding dress,

music is provided by four folks on the fiddle.
(string quartet !)

that lovely sunshine is just what we like !

guests mingle in front of Solberge Hall
the carriage, hasnow clipped and clopped off back to wherever carriages go to
this is the socialising time of the day.

a quickly grabbed shot of our newlyweds

oh go on . . we'll take a quickly posed picture

let's take a look inside . . .
this is the function suite at Solberge Hall
decked out for Rebecca and Neils wedding breakfast

the little bridesmaid,
you know . . . .the one
who first appeared in the photograph at the beginning of this page,
(watching the TV on the sofa) goes for a wander with her pal Sasha . . .
she turns and looks . . she knows the photographer is still taking pictures.

the room in which the wedding breakfast is to be served,
is the newer looking brick building to the left,
Rebecca and Neil are taking a wander . .
and whilst they are wandering about . .
I get a picture of them

alone at last !

we notice a rather large tree
and involve the tree in a picture.
(as one does !)

The table plan
several horse images (and some dogs too) appear on the plan
I'm guessing that the tables are named after much loved pets.

a young feller pipes the couple into the room

and . . what could this be on the table ?

it's a speech . . !
(come on . . admit it . . . you did guess, didn't you ! )

there's an unusual wedding cake arrangement -
the wedding cake is actually lots of little cakes,
and they're displayed on a glass multi tiered pyramid thingymajig.
most unusual . . rather cool though !

this is after the wedding breakfast,
the guests are relaxing outside
enjoying a drink and the cooler summer evening air
and the two little bridesmaids that we met earlier,
are collecting flower petals on the grass.

as I mentioned . . the grown ups are enjoying drinkies in the cool evening air

but inside - (the same room which hosted the wedding breakfast)
things have changed . . the atmosphere is totally different.
we're getting ready to party .

before the evening commences . . .
Rebecca throws her bouquet.
I manage to catch it in mid flight
which of the girls caught the bouquet ?
can you guess ?

ah - first dance . . . and that dress can swirl.

a couple of pictures in front of Solberge Hall
it's getting darker . .

much darker . .
something happens next . . .

it's a BBQ . . .
followed by . .

Kaboom. Rebeccas father organised some artillery
which he detonated at the rear of Solberge Hall
as I recall . . he organised the display himself . .

and that's it.
pictures complete.
I wander back to my car, tired. . . .happy.
with many hundreds of pictures for Rebecca and Neil
there was only room for a handful of images on this page,
to give you a tiny sample, a flavour of the day.
thank you Rebecca and Neil.
you were lovely folks to spend the day with.
