recent awards etc to be proud of

The silver circlet gives a hint of the mystery of this girl !

I'd heard of laughing eyes but hadn't to my recollection ever heard them.

you can certainly see them here.

Laughing eyes above, laughing guy here !

the day was smiles all the way.

Leaving the smiling theme for a moment, two rings meet up before their big day.

note the shape of the ladies ring on top, slightly curved.

neat. -
maybe someone knows the meaning of this.

(or perhaps there isn't a meaning
and I'm looking for clues
where there is no mystery to solve).

Jeanette wanted to be pictured with her father on the rocks at Cresswell

photographer whizzed down from the church

where the guys were massing,

to the rocks for a rendezvous with the wedding car, then back to the church.

OK it's unusual - but hey - we're all individuals !

The vicar,
having survived Jeanettes fathers attempt to make him smile by putting a top hat onto his head
(it didn't really match the vicars white surplice),
conducts the church service.

I take pictures from aloft,

in the organ loft.

Half way up the belltower staircase,
I get an aerial view of the register being signed.

Stuart gives his best during the speeches, surrounded by seascapes and seabattle pictures.

This is after all, Dissington Hall,
(built by a relative of Lord Collingwood)

Lord who, I hear you ask.

shame on you - go off and read some history.

(battle of Trafalgar etc etc).

from my eagles nest aloft,
I spy a procession leading from the church
its a hot summers day,
so naturally, Ice creams are on hand for the guests.

Zola the dog makes a guest appearance, but he doesn't qualify for an ice cream.

I assume he doesn't like vanilla.

A seemingly driverless car conveys Stuart and Jeanette to Dissington.

(there is a driver in there somewhere -
I just can't see him in this picture).

the mystery driver leaps from the car
and opens the door for Jeanette.

(as he ought to . . she's the bride )

Oho . .

(oho is a bit like Aha,

except with two O's instead of A's).

stars, candles and little stones on the tables.

OK .
so we do a couple of posed pictures.

why not ?

Jeanette astounds everyone,
suddenly appearing in a black satin cape.

she explained that she'd always wanted one -
and the dressmaker said she could make it .
so that's about all there is to it.

magic .

No caption needed for these images,

needless to say -
everyone was smiling,
having a terrific time,
in the Billiard room at Dissington

oh . . that's a caption isn't it . . ..

night night. . .. .

Dissington Hall in Northumberland was the reception venue for the wedding of Stuart and Jeanette Gladstone.
